DIY Bath Recipes That Are Good For Mental Health

Mental health influences how we feel, think or act. Mental health is critical in our lives since it determines how we relate to others, what choices we make and how do we handle different situations. Mental health influences a person behavior.

People behave differently due to the difference in mental health. Therefore, it’s important for people to have good mental health so as to function at a satisfactory level of behavioral and emotional adjustment. Characteristics of good mental health include ability to fulfill key functions and ability to manage both positive and negative emotions.

How small healthy habits can make a difference in anyone’s health in general people tend to work for long hours which puts them at risk of suffering from mental problems and heart disease. Working for long hours is bad because the body doesn’t get time to “recharge.’We all need to relax after long working hours. Relaxing is beneficial since it helps the body to calm down and properly manage anxiety or stress.

Taking a warm bath will be great, after a long day’s work. lt is amazing how much we can benefit from little things such as taking a warm bath A warm bath helps in curbing depression through improving the quality of sleep, lowering blood pressure and reducing muscle pain.lt also elevates the mood by giving you a combination of comfort, quiet and isolation, subsequently allowing the body and mind to relax. Therefore, engulfing yourself into a steamy bath is probably what your body needs for a healthier and effective treatment rather than using pain relievers and other drugs.

Most recommended DIY bath recipes:
1. Essential Oils Recipe
Typically, essential oils are used for medicinal health purposes. However, they are added into baths in order to relieve stress, boost immunity, combat depression and stimulate pathways used for respiration. Common essential oils that can be added to baths include chamomile, frankincense, and lavender.

Recipe: Pure essential oils (with no synthetic ingredients) should be used. To reduce anxiety-lavender (5 drops), frankincense (10 drops), bergamot (5 drops).• Induce sleep-lavender (10 drops), chamomile (5 drops), olive oil (1 teaspoonful) • Relieve muscle soreness-peppermint (5-8 drops), lavender (5 drops), olive oil (1 teaspoonful).

2. Epsom salt Bath Recipe
Epsom salt is rich in sulfates and magnesium that is absorbed by the skin into the bloodstream. The minerals help in the healing processes, increase oxygen circulation and stimulate nerve function.

Recipe: Individuals 60Ibs and a below 1/2 cup of Epsom salt (60-100Ibs) 1 cup (100-150) 1 and 1/2 cups (150-200) 2 cups. For each 50 Ibs, add 1/2 cup

3. Baking Soda Recipe
It remains one of the first lines in treating psoriasis and for good reason, it provides cleansing and invigorating feel to the patient’s skin. Baking Soda removes dead cells from the skin thereby improving the body’s ability to regenerate new ones.lt also boosts the lymphatic system.

Recipe: Half cup of baking soda to a warm bath.

4. Seaweed Recipe
Seaweed bath helps in absorbing minerals across the skin into the body’s tissues and organs.

Recipe: If you reside near the ocean, gather fresh seaweed (not what is on the shore) and add it into a warm bath until the gel coating dissolves.lf you can’t access fresh, soak seaweed powder (available in stores) for 30 minutes before taking a warm bath.

5 Apple Cider Vinegar Bath
lt is a versatile and common remedy to most health problems.lt treats inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and it also balances the PH due to its natural acidity.

Recipe:1 or 2 cups of Apple Cider Vinegar should be added to baths 1-2 times weekly.
